About Vermont VA Federal Credit Union

Vermont VA Federal Credit Union (VT VA FCU), chartered in 1939, has the honor and privilege of being the oldest credit union in the State of Vermont. With more than 2,300 members and $27 million in assets, the credit union serves the employees of the White River Junction VA Medical Center and their immediate families, along with those that live, work, worship or attend school in Grafton or Sullivan Counties in New Hampshire or Windsor and Orange Counties in Vermont.

Credit unions are not for profit but for service and its members are its owners.

Community involvement is a cornerstone of VT VA FCU and we participate regularly in the Toys for Tots and March of Dimes programs.

Teller/Member Services Representative (Full-Time: 32+ hours/week):

Vermont VA Federal Credit Union, which was chartered in 1939, is the oldest credit union operating in the State of Vermont.  The Credit Union provides service to over 2,300 members within the communities that we serve.  Those communities include employees of the White River Junction Veteran’s Administration Medical Center and their immediate families.  In addition, the Credit Union also serve those who live, work, worship, or attend school in Windsor and Orange Counties in Vermont and Grafton and Sullivan counties in New Hampshire.  The Credit Union offers a full range of retail deposit and lending banking products and convenient self-service electronic services such as electronic home banking, Mobile APP, MasterCard debit card, electronic bill payment, and remote deposit.

This position is available at our main office located at 1285 VA Cutoff Road, White River Junction, VT.  Our office is opened Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm.

The Teller/Member Services Representative provides friendly and professional member/customer service while processing transactions face-to-face for a variety of routine to more complex financial transactions. The successful candidate will:

  • Consistently displays appropriate behaviors that provides an outstanding member experience.
  • Resolve problems independently, escalating more difficult issues to management.
  • Processes Teller transactions for our Members including servicing Member accounts, accepting loan payments, cashing checks, verifying currency, balancing cash drawer, and night deposits.
  • Balances Automated Teller machines (ATMs), as necessary.
  • Services both lobby and drive-thru Member transactions.

The Teller/Members Services Representative will possess the following minimum job requirements:

  • A minimum of a High school diploma or GED.
  • Related experience preferred in banking and/or retail industry.
  • General Math skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to be concise, clear and consistent.
